“We had many problems with the dock bumpers which are standard mounted onto the loading docks, predominantly cracking / bursting and crumble off. In order to avoid further damage to premises and vehicles, we were forced to replace at least annual the dock bumpers which gradually became a serieus costs driver for us. After talks with Prologis, the owner of the logistics property, it was agreed to do a pilot with the LENFLEX dock bumper, which after more than 9 months testing, was meeting our expectations, requirements and demands and therefore it was decided to install the LENFLEX dock in both the newly to build warehouse (30.000m2 and 31 laaddocks) as well as the existing warehouse (60.000m2 and 55 laaddocks) and to replace all the existing dock bumpers with the LENFLEX dock bumper. “The initial investment in the LENFLEX dock bumper is slightly higher than a standard dock bumper, however the Return on Investment is one year or even less than one year” according Geert van Beek. According Geert van Beek it would be a good development when investors in logistics and industrial property would invest upfront in sustainability like the LENFLEX dock bumper, from an environmental and living environment perspective as well lower operating costs for the end-users of these logistics facilities.
